Best of Chicago Travel Guide

Do you have a trip to Chicago anytime soon?!  Save the post because I have everything you need for your trip!  I did a question box on my stories asking for recommendations and I got SO MANY responses! I took some of your recommendations and had such an amazing time.

Where to stay in Chicago?

We stayed at a gorgeous the Londonhouse Chicago which had amazing views of the city.

What to eat and drink in Chicago?

Friday night:

The first night we got drinks at Londonhouse (where we were staying).  We weren’t able to go up to the rooftop, but it should be open soon. I would definitely recommend. Reservations are trickier to get so make sure to book in advance.

We went to Etta for dinner and got 2 really good vegiterian pizzas! Super vibey and cute inside for pictures.

Grabbed some drinks at Happy Camper. There are a bunch of other bars around this area to hop around.

Saturday:

We just got coffee at the local Corner Bakery Cafe close to the hotel. We were able to stroll around downtown and Peanut Park and even got charcuterie from the grocery store for a quick lunch during our boat ride. We used Chicago E-Boats for a boat tour around the city and I even got to drive the boat! This is something I would highly recommend. It was such a fun activity for everyone.

For dinner we went to The Hampton Social in River North. This place is a MUST to get the gram. They have such fun neon signs. The food and drinks were great here too!

Sunday:

We made it to Parlor Pizza for lunchtime. I got a vegetarian pizza called Burrata be kidding me that topped high with arugula. Of course after we left the pizza place there was lots of shopping nearby. Some of my favorites that were super close were Anthropologie and Lululemon.

We still hadn’t gotten our shopping fix so we headed to Oak street for some more designer shopping. This area is the Rodeo Drive of Chicago. Of course I had to snag myself a little treat. I got myself a little Prada babe and an adorable scrunchie!

After shopping we were all in the mood for Mexican and I had so many of you recommend Mercadito. It was amazing!

Lastly for a nightcap we had to check out the famous Jojo’s Shake Bar and I got a monster shake called the Rocky IV and I even got CBD added to my shake. It was banana and Reeces pieces flavored. You can also get alcohol added to your shakes!

Monday:

Monday was our last day. We got up and headed to Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe before our flight. I got these amazing Oreo cookies and cream pancakes. If you are not a sweets for breakfast type person they have plenty of savory options as well.

Other notable restaurants that you all recommended :  RMP for fancy Italian, Soho House, Paradise Park for cute IG pics, Aba for Mediterranean food, Pizzeria Portifno, Lou Malnati’s Pizza, Cindy’s Rooftop, Grand Luxe Cafe, Gibson Steakhouse, Vig, Yolk, Purple Pig, Giordano’s for famous Chicago style deep dish pizza, & Jeni’s Ice Cream.

Other things to do in Chicago:

Millennium park to see the Bean

Cubs game and explore Wrigleyville

Michigan Ave Shopping

Boat Tour

Botanical Garden

Can’t wait to get back to Chicago again!  We had such a fun time – even me without drinking!  Be sure to comment any questions you may have or suggestions for what I need to check out next time I am in town!

xoxo, E

  1. Hi friend. Beautiful pics!! Im going to Chicago next week. How much did you spend on the boat ride and how long was it?

    1. Hi Jessica! I linked the boat company we used in the blog post! They do tons of different tours and the prices vary depending on how many people you have and the day of the week. They have all the info on their website. Have so much fun in Chicago!
