Where to Take Your Next Vacation: Malta Travel Guide

First let’s start with where is Malta? It is an island off the coast of Italy. My family and I went over Christmas/new years and I wanted to share our favorite things we did, where we stayed, what we ate and most importantly what I wore!

what i wore

where we stayed

We stayed in a beautiful villa in Mellieha (a city in Malta!). It was gorgeous and the owners were amazing! We had a tun of space and saved money making breakfast in the villa kitchen. I also have a tour in instagram highlights if you want to see a closer look.

I mean how cute is she? Hanging out in our villa!

what we did

Visited the Mdina which is a small city built in the 8th century bc. 85 people live there and some of Game of Thrones was filmed here!

I mean look at this view!
entire gang! Still sad Ryan couldn’t make it — he was too sick to come 🙁

Next we went to the city of Valletta which had a carousel, merry-go-round, shopping and lots of good food!

Stopped by Saint John’s Co-Cathedral, it was breathtaking!
View from the Citadel Gozo

Took a ferry over to Gozo… I haven’t ever been on one of these! It was an experience in it’s own taking a car on a boat! The city was also amazing. we had such a fun day! More pics from Gozo below.

Blue Window, Gozo – this is a must!
They filmed Game of Thrones at a similar one (that was washed up!)
another church!
Basilica of Ta’ Pinu

This by far was my favorite day! We went to Hagar Qim which is the OLDEST man-made ruins still standing. It was sooo cool! From 3200 BC.

Stopped by the fish market in Marsaxlokk! I would stop by on Sunday so they are actually selling fish. They also have the cutest restaurants by the shore!

more hanging at the Villa to relax!
Malliha Bay – exploring with my dad!
yes, I wore my slippers

I we also went to Mdina glass and Valletta glass – so cool to see how they make them! I didn’t get anything but something to still see!

what we ate

Delicious gnocci from Star Bistro in Valletta.
Grandma getting a sip of beer in Valletta.
Pizza from Cafe Diaz in Gozo
La Siciliana – more pizza! It was delicious
Rebekah’s – this dinner was delish

Is Malta now on your bucket list?! Or have you been there? If you have any questions or additional recommendations please share them below!
