Decided to fully embrace fall & took the cutest girls trip to Stowe, Vermont! If you’re looking for the perfect place to take in the views, cozy up & get alllllll the small hallmark town feels, this is for you. I wanted to make a travel guide for you to check out the next time you’re planning a little fall getaway. Read more to see what I wore, where I stayed, what to eat and what not to eat.
Where should I stay?
We stayed at the Sprucepeak Lodge, which was too cute & the perfect place to get the true Vermont feel! It was the perfect blend of cozy & modern, the rooms were beautiful & the staff was amazing! (Bonus points if you go in the Winter, because it is Stowe’s only ski-in, ski-out luxury resort. Which means it is located slope-side at the base of Stowe Mountain Resort – talk about convenient). There are so many restaurants on-site from romantic candle-light dinners and scenic breakfast spots to an authentic Japanese restaurant & a poolside bar. Literally, there is something for everyone here.
What to eat, drink and do in Stowe?
Our First Day
After checking in, we headed to Solstice bistro & lounge, and the WhistlePig Pavilion at the lodge for drinks. Then we headed into town to grab a drink and dinner at Idletyme Brewing. It had the best small-town feel while also having the best aesthetic. The drinks were a hit and this pretzel… SO good. Stowe is full of art galleries, restaurants, boutiques, breweries and more.
Our Second Day
We started our second day with a morning hike up Spruce Peak which started with a beautiful gondola ride. After we finished, we headed into town for breakfast at Black Tap Coffee. We went here at least 3 times, it was the best matcha latte I have ever had. We also heard such great things about Butlers Pantry, but keep in mind, it is closed Tuesday & Wednesday!
After that, we went golfing at the Lodge’s golf course, which is in the Mountains & was absolutely beautiful. We went to Stowe Cider for lunch & cider – NA for me, of course! We loved it here & the place is so much fun – vegetarian friendly, too! They have so many events, live music & more so be sure to check their calendar before you go! Obviously needed sweets from Laughing Moon Chocolates, which did not disappoint.
Now the real question – where do I take pictures?
Red Covered Bridge – about 20 minutes from the Lodge & cute but watch for cars!
Smuggler’s Notch – about 20 minutes from the Lodge, it’s definitely much cuter when all the fall colors start peeking through. Again, watch for cars!
Gates Farm Covered Bridge – about 20 minutes from the Lodge , we hit this spot on the way there! Do not recommend bringing your suitcase with you, lol.
We had the best time exploring Stowe & taking in all the views. I think you’d have a great time here no matter what time of year you went – just do your research beforehand to see if Winter or Fall is more your speed. The perfect destination for a girls trip, couples trip or just you & your honey. Also, big plus, some of the rooms in the Lodge are pet-friendly!
