I am normally the type that makes a decision in about 3 seconds… unless it is what to eat for lunch. Now that could take days lol. I recently made the hardest decision of my life to date. Harder then deciding what college to attend….to move to Kalamazoo for a job or to Minneapolis for another. This was one that I actually had to think about!
When I started blogging in April of 2018 it was a way to express myself and meet some friends (read more here). I didn’t think it would be a way to make money. I continued to grow my blog, instagram following, business, and income as well as the amount of time I was working. I spend 40+ hours a week at my full-time engineering/supervisor job at Medtronic, and another 40+ hours working on classycleanchic. Blogging isn’t just throwing pictures up on the gram, there is a lot more on the back end…answering emails, researching brands, reading contracts, managing expenses/taxes. Working during all of my waking hours leaves a little time for Ryan, Koda and me.
In November of 2019 I realized that something needed to change, it was all becoming too much. After the most thinking I have ever done, a few excel spreadsheets, a few tears and lots of conversations with Ryan + my family, I made the decision that I was going to go FULL TIME BLOGGING! OMG it feels amazing to say that…. but is still bitter sweet. My last day @ Medtronic will be the 22nd, but I will still always be an engineer.
So many emotions: excited… to start this new chapter of my life. nervous… starting my own business is scary! gratitude… to all of you. THANK YOU for making it possible for me to have this blogging thing be my career. Every follow, like, story view, and link you purchased through have all helped me get here. I can’t wait to see what 2020 brings for us.
